I’ve been working on material for a clinic I’ve been asked to teach on babies and dogs.

The audience is expectant couples, so the main focus will be on preparing the family dog for the new arrival, identifying possible red flags, and orchestrating the introduction of dog to baby. But I also want to address nurturing a healthy bond as baby matures.

Here is a short video toward that end. It features my 15-month-old son Conrad and 4-yr-old daughter June interacting with my black Lab Olive Oyl. By the way, I don’t generally use the word “No” with my dogs (though I do correct verbally when needed). “No” is pretty much reserved for the kids, who happen to speak English.
